WHEATON, IRENE A. – 86, of Parrsboro, Cumberland Co. passed away Monday, September 6, 2010 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan. Born at Hyde Park, Mass., she was a daughter of the late George and Madeline (Leblanc) Breau. She was a member of St. George’s Anglican Church, Parrsboro, was a former A.Y.W.A. President and served with the Altar Guild. She enjoyed golf, curling, travel and most of all, her family. She was very active as a ham radio operator for more than 20 years as VE1 CFK and VE1CF. She is survived by her husband, William; a son, Billy (Brenda), Parrsboro; a brother, Jack (Ruth), Virginia; grandchildren, Ryan Wheaton (Tanya St. Pierre), Dartmouth; Patrick Wheaton (Anaïs Guimond), Halifax. She was predeceased by a daughter, Brenda Joyce in infancy; sister, Doris; brothers, George and Ralph. Funeral service 11 a.m. Friday [September 10, 2010] at St. George’s Anglican Church, Parrsboro, Rev. Tory Byrne officiating. Burial in St. George’s Anglican Cemetery, Parrsboro. Memorial donations may be made to the Palliative Care of South Cumberland Community Care Centre, Parrsboro.
