Ross, Abbie B. – Age 69, of Two Islands and formerly of Leamington passed away Saturday, December 26, 2015 at her beloved Two Islands with the love of her life, Brad Ross at her side, with whom she just celebrated her 50th wedding anniversary in October. Born in Parrsboro, she was a daughter of Frances Parsons, Parrsboro and the late Harry Parsons. Abbie was an avid rug hooker, a member of the WestCumb Amateur and Old Timers Radio Clubs. Her call sign was VE1BFB. She worked at All Saints Hospital for 32 years, retiring as manager of environmental services (laundry and housekeeping departments). Besides her mother, she is survived by her husband, Brad; a son, Gerry (Stephanie), Dartmouth; grandchildren, Nicole Ross, Ryan Ross, both of Dartmouth; sisters, Carolyn Reashore (Hyland ‘Bud’), Toronto; June Wagstaff (Neale), Port Greville; several nieces and nephews; special uncle, Robert Noiles, Springhill; sisters in law, Marjorie Slack (Billy Mills), Leamington; Debbie Ross (Ralph Adams), Southampton; Susan Parsons, Lower Sackville. She was predeceased by a brother, Gary. Visitation 6-8 pm Monday [December 28, 2015] at Smith’s Funeral Home, Parrsboro. Funeral service will be held 1 pm on Tuesday [December 29, 2015] at the Parrsboro Baptist Church, Rev. Emmanuel Mutale officiating. Reception to follow in the church vestry. Burial in the Leamington Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Leamington Cemetery.
