Thompson, Eric M. – Age 70, of Brookfield passed away suddenly on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Springhill, he was a son of the late Harry and Sheila (Bowden) Thompson. Eric attended Nova Scotia Agricultural College and McGill University, then returned home as co-owner of Maritime Drainage and Keneric Tractors in Brookfield from 1973 to 2005. He is survived by a son, Nathan (Kelli), Dartmouth; grandson, Emmett; brothers, Weymond (Lez), Brookfield; Aaron (Louise), Bridgewater; sister-in-law, Anne Thompson, Halifax; aunt, Betty Thompson, Amherst; uncle, Dara Bowden, Truro; several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Dean. Special thanks to Gary and Laurie Kolstee for the friendship and care. A time of visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at Smith’s Funeral Home, Parrsboro. A graveside committal service will take place in the West Brook Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations to the West Brook Cemetery or to a charity of choice.
