Kenneth Manning Knowles
1927 - 2019

Kenneth Manning Knowles

Knowles, Kenneth Manning - 92, of Bridgewater (formerly of Bedford) went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 9, 2019. Ken was born in September of 1927 to Edward and Hazel Knowles of Centre Burlington, NS. He lived in many places and did many jobs. On July 28 of 1951 he married Vilda Spencer and in 1958 they settled in Bedford, NS where Ken then worked for Farmers Dairy until his retirement. Ken was a man who was quiet, who loved God and his family. He made many people feel special, loved children, poems, songs and rhymes that he had learned in youth. They would come out at the least expected times. Later in life he had a license plate on his vehicle that said "I am spending my children's inheritance" but the truth is that he left us the best inheritance anyone could ever receive - a knowledge of God and a strong faith which was  shared with each of us and those who entered the family, as well as with friends. He is survived by his wife of 68 years Vilda (Spencer); his children, Linda (Carman) Webb, Russell (Nancy), Keith (Calora) and Peggy (Jim) Abriel. Grandchildren - David (Kate) Webb, Brian (Leanne) Webb, Tanya (Gregory) Kuhn, Tiffany (Knowles), Krista (Andrew) Gabriel, Graham (Janelle) Knowles, Becky (Chris) Dixon, Jessica and Alex Abriel. Great Grandchildren - Nathanael, Jerome, Thea, Angelina, Oakley, Alem, Tarikua, Ethan, Evan, Adelyn, Mylah, Rayelle, Lincoln, Sawyer, Winston, Raven and Jade; Sister-in-law- Shirley Knowles. He was predeceased by his parents, his brothers Merlin (Shirley), Clarence, Ronald (Elizabeth) and a grandson Philip Knowles. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 14th , 2019 at 1pm at Full Gospel Church at 2256  Larry Uteck Blvd, Bedford, with a reception to follow at the same location. It is requested that there be no flowers and that it be totally scent free due to severe allergies in the family. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice. There will be a private burial and at a later date.
