Wendy, Leigh Kell - 47, of High River, Alberta died Wednesday, April 26, 2000 in the High River Hosptial after a brief illness. Born in Parrsboro, NS, she was the daughter of Florence (Durning) Faulkner, Economy, NS. Wendy grew up in Five Islands and later in Parrsboro. As a young girl she spent much of her spare time on the streams and brooks of Northern Nova Scotia, enjoying the outdoors immensely. She was an avid sports fisherman throughout her life. Wendy Leigh loved animals of all types and she gave that love to the many cats and dogs that she owned. Wendy graduated from the Business Program at Parrsboro High School and was subsequently employed in Halifax as a medical receptionist. She held several other positions in Halifax until she married. On a visit to a close friend in the U.S., Wendy was given a puppy and her love of animals became quite evident. The first of its breed registered in Canada, Ladybug was inseperable from Wendy and she was heartbroken at its death in 1992. Wendy marries her husband Brian Kell in 1992 and they lived in Truro, NS for four years before moving to Alberta. Wendy is surivived by her devoted husband, Brian Kell, High River, AB, her mother, Florence Faulkner and husband, Le-Roy Faulkner, Upper Economy, NS, borhters, Stephen, Economy, NS, Kevin, Halifax, NS, Mitchell, San Diego, CA, nephew, Jamie Faulkner, Economy, NS and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Graham and Florence (Mum to Wendy) Durning. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service 2 p.m. Friday, May 5, 2000 at Smith's Funeral Home in Parrsboro, Rev. James Bushell officiaiting. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or your local chapter of the S.P.C.A. The services were handled by Snodgrass Funeral Home in High River, Alberta.
