Janet A. Fisher
1948 - 2007
Janet Amy Fisher - beloved wife of Brian
for 41 years, Left to be with our Lord on January 6th, 2007. The daughter of the
late Daryl and Gloria Shaw, Sister to the late Clyde Shaw; Mom is survived by
her husband and soul-mate, Brian; her loving children, Dawn (Barry) London of
Moncton, Heather (Stacy) Fisher of Saint John, Brian (Krista) Fisher of
Riverview, Amanda (Jeff) Bourque of Moncton. Grandmother to Jennifer,
Jamie-Lynn, Emily, Noah & McKenzie. Loved Sister of Wayman (Stephannie) Shaw,
Darlene Orr and Keith Fisher. Loving daughter-in-law to Mary Fisher, Aunt to
many nieces and nephews, she loved them all with her heart. Mom was proud of her
children, always happy to see any one of them regardless of the terrible jokes
they would tell her, she always would give us a heart felt groan, and a secret
smile. She felt their joys, their sorrows and their pains so deeply, it was like
sharing. Mom had this way of seeing the forest through the proverbial trees, and
we needed that help, Mom would help us with her sage advice, getting to the
heart of the matter with love and respect. We paid her back with not only love,
but an entire brigade of frog artifacts which she loved and took with humor. Mom
lived her life by her rules, loving her family, near or far, regardless of where
they were in the world; they were always close to her heart and mind. Mom was
one of the strongest ladies one would meet, honest in everything she did. Mom
was born in Saint John, lived in Ontario, New Brunswick, finally retiring to her
favorite place on earth in Parrsboro with Dad. Mom loved to go camping on
weekends with Dad, the only thing making it better, was if a special grandchild
would come and see her (Mom could make them all feel special, because to Mom
they were). Known as "Big Nanny" because of her height, and "Nanny" to the
others being a Grandmother was one of Mom's greatest joys in her life. Mom had
an opportunity to become a foster parent to a young boy in Bangladesh named
Hanif Bapary, and she proudly hung his photo along side of the rest of her
family's. Mom was an avid reader, instilling in her family the love of all
books, including the Bible. It wasn't uncommon to find 2 or 3 books on the
coffee table while Mom was knitting a sweater or mittens for someone in the
family. When Mom was in better health, she learned how to ballroom dance with
Dad, and that was one of her great pleasures, and they did it well together. Mom
was a member of the Parrsboro Baptist Church and took great comfort and peace in
her beliefs in God and her final resting place with Him in heaven. There will
not be any visiting and memorial donations can be sent to the World Vision
program, which Mom was so fond of. A very special thank you to Dr Lee, Dr M
Parker and family for your care in helping Mom through the years, as friends and
healers. A heart-felt thanks for showing us the way how to love our family
through good and bad, and for making us who we are Mom. We missed you before you
left us.
