Geneva L. Matheson

Matheson, Geneva L. – Age 92, of Amherst passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at the South Cumberland Community Care Centre, Parrsboro. Born in River Hebert, she as a daughter of the late Roland and Margaret (McIsaac) Symes. Geneva loved her time in Advocate with her partner, Carl Berry spending many hours going for drives and seeking treasures at yard sales. She always looked forward to her Christmas visits to Reg, Betty and Polly’s. She will be fondly remembered for saying what needed to be said, regardless of the audience. This humorous side of Geneva will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. She is survived by her son, Steve Brown (Martha), Bass River; grandchildren, Becky (Mike), Taylor, Samantha (Kyle); great grandchildren, Ava, Connor, Fulton, Mathew and Brooke; sisters, Evelyn Ripley and Ruby Rorabeck; a niece, Nancy; a nephew, Peter. Cremation has taken place. A private family burial will take place at a later date. The family would like to thank the South Cumberland Community Care Centre for the exceptional care she received during her final time with us. Memorial donations may be made to the Recreation Program of South Cumberland Community Care Centre Foundation.
