Lank, Evelyn R. ‘Evie’ – Age 94, of Parrsboro passed away
peacefully on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care
Centre, Upper Nappan. Born in Parrsboro, she was a daughter of the late Hilbert
and Maude (McCall) Lank. Although ‘Evie’ had little formal training, she held
many positions building skills and experience, advancing from postal clerk to
School Board Secretary-Treasurer. With amalgamation, she transferred to
Cumberland Regional School Board as Payroll Supervisor, retiring from the
position in 1983. She was co-author of Parrsboro's 1989 Centennial Book. Evie
had a love of gardening and fashion. She is survived by nephews, Tony MacKenzie,
New Canaan; John MacKenzie (Patti), Stewiacke; a sister, Ruth Sanden, Airdrie,
Alta.; great-nieces and nephews, Katelyn, Jacob, Jordan; a great-great niece,
Piper. She was predeceased by her son, David; sisters, June, Helen, Kathleen;
brothers, Clair, Edward. In keeping with Evie’s wishes, a private
graveside service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations to
the Chignecto Manor, Advocate Harbour. .
