Taylor, Gary P. ‘Gig’ – Age 66, of Parrsboro passed away
Saturday, October 30, 2021 at the QEII (Infirmary Site), Halifax, surrounded by
his family. Born in Parrsboro, the son of the late Carl and Elsie (Phinney)
Taylor. He started his career at the Saint John ship yard and dry dock, and
worked as a carpenter with his brother for many years. Gig went on to spend the
remainder of his career at Harrison’s Mill. Gig will be dearly missed by sons,
Allan (Wendy), St. Martins, N.B.; Jeff (Laura), Sussex, N.B.; Jeremy, Amherst;
daughters, Jennifer, Amherst; Irene, Truro; grandchildren, Nicholas, Thomas,
Cameron, Emily, Nathaniel, Jules, Jaxon, Dominick and great grandchildren, Boyd,
Ben, Eli; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by great grandson,
Bill; sisters, Jean, Beatrice; brothers, Allan, Roland, Robert, Verland, Gerald,
Fred, Ralph, Lawrence, Cleveland. In keeping with Gig’s wishes, there
will be a small family service at a later date. Memorial donations may
be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or the QEII Health
Sciences Foundation.
