McLaughlin, Judith A. 'Judy' - Age 66, of Economy. Judy passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 in her home in Economy with her husband of 48 years by her side, Bill. Judy was born in Truro and grew up in Bass River. Judy was the daughter of Helen and Orville Patriquin. Previously deceased by her brothers, Michael, Ronnie, and Brian Patriquin; and step-father, Bob Abbott. She is survived by sisters, Gail (Gary) Vance, Cindy (Stuart, deceased) Grue; and brother, Terry (Sherry) Patriquin, all of Bass River; her sons, Garnet (Alexia), Greg (Nellie), Geoff (Trisha), all of Economy; and her grandchildren, Madeline, Gracie, Olivia, Cecelia, Norah, Avary, Seth, and Blake, along with many nieces and nephews. Judy loved her boys, grandkids, community, and traveling, especially to the Dominican Republic. She spent many sunny days at "the point" bass fishing, reading, and soaking up the sun. Her kitchen table was open, welcoming to everyone, and always the place to be. Working hard in everything she did, whether it was on the flats, the blueberry field, the office, or the restaurant, she always had a smile, a positive attitude, and a laugh. Her ability to give and care was unmatched. Her light will burn bright with the number of lives she was able to touch along this shore and beyond. Special thanks to the Palliative Care Team and VON, especially Leona. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
