Allen, Jean A. - Age 83, of Harrison Settlement, formerly of Parrsboro. It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Jean A. Allen on Sunday, March 17, 2024 at the Cumberland Regional Health Centre, Amherst. Born on June 24, 1940, Jean was the daughter of the late George and Elsie (Mills) Trask. Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Jean worked hard as a nurse for many years and continued to provide private care for residents of Parrsboro after her retirement. Jean will be remembered for many things, especially the love she had for her family. Anyone who knew her could feel the love and pride she had watching her family grow.

Jean is survived by her brother, Charles 'Charlie' (Barb) Trask; her children, Mitchell (Jean), Thearon (Michelle Morris), Gordon (Shauna), Laura Quinn (David); her grandchildren, Jeremy, Leah, Leslie, Domenic, Daniel, Michelle, Mallory, Chelsey, Jessica, Frankie, Katie and Haley; her 15 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She found comfort with her companion, Gerald Lever, who took great care of Jean during her last years of life. Jean was predeceased by her loving husband, Reagh Allen; brothers, Wallace and Bobby Trask; and sisters, Mary Lock, Margaret Bland, Dorothy Halliday, Lois Nuttall and Muriel Moore. As well, her beloved grandson, Tyler Allen.

Jean loved spending time with her family and sharing a laugh. She enjoyed driving and listening to country classics, while snacking on anything chocolate. Her grandchildren will always remember her specialty 'giggle juice' and find comfort in having a glass in her memory. Jeans memory will live on through her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In keeping with Jean's request, there will be no funeral service held. In lieu of flowers, memorials donations in her memory may be made to the Parrsboro Playground Committee.

Jean's family would like to extend heartfelt appreciation to the nurses and Dr. James of the ICU at the Cumberland Regional Health Centre, Amherst.
